Another New Deal fraud. Pertemps falsify paperwork stating participants have attended twice the amount they actually have.
Complaint:
There are other issues I have with PPDG, for instance the number of hours that I’m actually attending the centre vs the number of hours that I’m supposed to be there, and how technically we’re all comitting fraud (along with PPDG themselves) by falsifying information on the timesheets, however as this arrangement is actually beneficial to me, I’m not that fussed with it.
We’re supposed to be there for 4 hours a day, two days per week. We actually spend two hours there, yet the timesheets which are signed, clearly say 4 hours – we’re told the times to write, the Code next to it (usually J), then they’re signed.
Personally it’s a catch 22 – I don’t tend to agree with it, but at the end of the day, given that it really is a waste of time being there, I personally don’t mind.
The problem, however, will be when I’m undoubtedly returned to the Jobcentre in 13 weeks, and they want to know why I haven’t managed to secure a job – “After all we sent you to Pertemps, and they offered you 8hrs per week of support, so you should have got something by now”. Hence the Catch 22 situation.
Commentary:
The complainant is correct – both the Provider and the New Deal participant are equally to blame for the fraud however the New Deal participant doesn’t have a say in the matter as they would be exited for speaking out.

This also happens at Crescent Training in Southampton. We are meant to be there 9.30am to 4.30pm. We have never been there until this time we always get let out at between 3pm and 3.45pm. Not complaining as such, because its useless, non-productive dump, but we have to sign time-sheets on Fridays stating 4.30pm every day. Does this mean we are committing fraud for signing these sheets?

One of my colleagues has been booted out of the above for this comment, had her money stopped, and is now being used as a scapegoat. She has high blood pressure, a seriously ill family member and is now having to get her animals re-homed or put down as she will have no income. It is totally out of order, people have the right to say what they want. It will not end here, unless DWP sort themselves out.
